The cursing in this book didn't really bother me that much as a reader (and I cannot fathom MG readers haven't heard those words before), but I can also imagine middle-schoolers cursing and then saying, "But Robin gets to say it in the book!" Perhaps publishers should offer "clean" versions to libraries and schools (though does that get too close to censorship?). Sigh. And yes, the label is tricky. Not truly a novel, so graphic memoir is possible, illustrated memoir makes sense, but then doesn't really acknowledge the comic format, but I haven't heard a more accurate and effective term yet.
