Please note that some of my older reviews lack ratings. Also, I review many books that I do not recommend, but I do not add rating labels to those books (since I allow people to browse my reviews by rating, I'd rather not shame any authors by allowing my audience to browse so easily for books I disliked).

These books are generally worth reading for some
or most audiences, and there's a lot to like about them!
But they may have some minor irritating flaws, or they
may lack the je ne sais quoi that makes a book
particularly memorable.

I have no qualms telling people to read these books
or even buy a copy to keep! They are free of major
(and sometimes even minor) flaws, and the main
reason they do not receive a rating of "Stunning!"
is my own personal preference.

These books are the best of the best—either they
resonate with my own personal experiences to
the point where they are a new favorite (or at least
close), or they are simply bona fide works of art
to where I cannot deny their excellence and craft.
